There was information about the future possibility for users of the WhatsApp messenger to hide their phone numbers from interlocutors in the application for Android. We are talking about a variant for the Google Play beta testing program.

The feature is currently under development. Whether a new opportunity will appear for all users is not yet certain.

According to the WABetaInfo portal, which usually publishes accurate inside information about new WhatsApp developments, users will soon be able to hide their phone numbers from their interlocutors, but so far only in certain groups in the Android application.

By default, the option is inactive, in addition, it will only be valid for community members. The phone number of the person who joins the community will not appear by default. But after the user joins a particular group within the community. It will be possible to make his number visible, but only to members of this group.

The screenshot allows you to evaluate how the innovation will look in the group settings. Outside the communities, such functionality is not provided, yet or in principle - it is still unknown. Note that instant messengers like Telegram have long offered the ability to hide a phone number by default.

WhatsApp developers have added a new feature to the messenger that gives group administrators the ability to delete any messages for all users.

This feature is available to beta testers of WhatsApp on Android in version 2.22.17.12. A group administrator who wants to delete an incoming message sees the "delete for everyone" option. The username will be displayed in the chat bubble during deletion. All members of the group will know that he deleted the message.
