There is going to be a lot of exciting Xiaomi news today! The latest is that Xiaomi are officially branching out of China and are heading to the Hong Kong market!
It has long been the plan of Beijing based Xiaomi to grow in to an international brand with rumours that they are eyeing up Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong as possible first steps. Today, Xiaomi will announce that they will officially launch the quad-core Mi2 in Hong Kong, this is the first time a Xiaomi phone will be officially available outside of mainland China.
Unfortunately for Hong Kong based Xiaomi fans they won't be getting the updated flagship M2S with faster CPU and 13 mega-pixel camera, but instead the current Mi2 which packs a 1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4 CPU, 2GB RAM and 8 mega-pixel camera.
Prices will be slightly cheaper in Hong Kong with the 16GB Mi2 going on sale for HK$ 2399 which is roughly 1920 Yuan.
