Xiaomi Mi 5 and Mi 5s Plus Global Units Receive MIUI 9

Some weeks ago, Xiaomi commenced the global rollout of MIUI 9 and a few devices were privileged to get it at the time. Fresh information now suggests that Xiaomi Mi 5 and Mi 5s Plus have been added to the list of devices to rock this state-of-the-art OS.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 update is captioned MIUI V9.1.1.0 NAAMIEI and it is about 571 MB large while the Mi 5s Plus is named MIUI V9.1.1.0 NBGMIEI with a size of 1.3 GB. Despite the size differences, most of the new features that come with this OS will arrive both smartphones.

It comes with a new display format, redesigned homepage, better folder cleaner, optimized system decryption speed and fixes for the language support issues. Camera app upgrade and animated icons for select app also come with MIUI 9.
