Xiaomi Mi Note 2 could be Xiaomi’s first all metal device
Xiaomi made a switch to metal with the Mi4, now new details claim that their next gen Mi Note 2 could feature an all metal design.
All metal phones are nothing new. HTC have been making them tor years, the latest iPhones are all metal as are the new Meizu devices, and even Elephone have full metal phones coming soon.
So far though Xiaomi don’t have an all metal design, but this might be changing with the launch of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. The current Mi Note comes with an alloy chassis and gorgeous 3D glass rear panel, however a new model is due early 2016 with an all new build.
Despite getting a full alloy construction we don’t expect the 2nd gen Mi Note to see an increase in screen size. Source are claiming the new flagship will feature a 5.7-inch Sharp sourced 2560 x 1440 2K display. Qualcomm are again going to be on board but with their latest Snapdragon 820, and we can expect 4GB RAM (at least) and 32GB memory, however a camera upgrade to 16 mega-pixels is on the cards.
Those rumours of Qualcomm ultrasonic fingerprint technology are back again too. Ultrasonic fingerprint scanners can be integrated beneath the display of a phone meaning a simple touch of the panel will unlock the device negating the needed for separate sensor or buttons.
More Xiaomi Mi Note 2 leaks are sure to turn up over the coming months to stay tuned.
