Xiaomi's big announcement today is that they have dropped the price of the 16GB Xiaomi Mi3 from by 300 Yuan ($47), bring the price of the flagship phone down from 1999 Yuan to only 1699 Yuan.
The price drop comes as no surprise as the phone maker have a track record of reducing costs of current flagship hardware midway through the life cycle, and just a few days after the OnePlus One launch the timing couldn't be any better! The price drop only affects customers in Mainland China currently and only if you are looking to by the 16GB version.
The Xiaomi Mi3 at 1699 Yuan has a Snapdragon 800 2.3Ghz processor, 2GB RAM, 13 mega-pixel camera, alloy body, 5-inch display and 3150mAh built in battery. The OnePlus One (which is not yet on sale) will start at 1999,99 Yuan with a 5.5-inch display, 2.5Ghz Snapdragon 801, 3GB RAM, built in 3100mAh battery and rear 13 mega-pixel camera and 4G LTE.
We all now have to wait and see if this price drop means that the 64GB version is going to finally be updated to Mi3S specificatsion with a more powerful chipset, more RAM and LTE, as rumours have been suggesting.
