Oppo Find X4 and Redmi K50 series will use MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC

Oppo Find X4 and Redmi K50 series will use MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC

Back in the last month, MediaTek went ahead with Qualcomm and Samsung by unveiling the world's first 4 nm chipset in the form of Dimensity 9000 SoC. Also, this chipset arrives as a big milestone for the Taiwanese firm as it marks its return to the flagship segment. The Dimensity 1200 was well received as a "flagship killer" or "intermediary flagship" chipset but was still behind Qualcomm and Samsung offerings for the segment.

Still, it served to show that MediaTek can produce good chipsets that can be great alternatives for high-end smartphones. We saw Xiaomi, Realme, and even OnePlus launching smartphones with this SoC. It gave MediaTek the necessary confidence to fly higher heights in the market. Apparently, the Dimensity 9000 will be equally successful as some big companies are already preparing flagships with it. Two of the most anticipated flagships series - Oppo Find X4 and Redmi K50 - will have at least one variant using the new SoC.

Besides Xiaomi, Oppo, the new chipset will also be adopted by Honor and Vivo. We, wouldn't be surprised to see a new OnePlus smartphone with the Dimensity 9000, maybe the Nord 3. However, the first companies will use it in Q1 2022. The OnePlus Nord 3, on the other hand, probably will come just in Q2 2022.

Oppo Find X4 series and Redmi K50 series coming with Dimensity 9000

Earlier today, Henry Duan, Vice President at Oppo, revealed that the next Find X flagship will be the first to be launched with the Dimensity 9000. He is probably talking about the vanilla Oppo Find X4. After all, the Oppo Find X4 Pro is confirmed with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Furthermore, Xiaomi's VP and General Manager of Redmi Lu Weibing confirms the new chipset of the Redmi K50 series. He didn't specify the device coming with it. However, we already know that rumors are pointing to it on the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. After all, the K40 Gaming came with the Dimensity 1200. This device will hit International waters with the POCO X4 GT moniker.

It's interesting to hear that the Oppo Find X4 will be the first. After all, it means that it will arrive before the Redmi K50 Gaming Smartphone. These devices will fight for the window between January and March 2022.

Honor and Vivo did not reveal the exact devices they will launch either. However, both brands promised their "new generation of flagship 5G mobiles phones". They will provide "unprecedented performance" to "push the envelope on 5G applications and innovations". Although Realme isn't in the report, we also expect some of the company's flagship killers to bet in the newest chipset.
