Oppo Reno 8 series specifications have leaked ahead of launch
Oppo is gearing up to launch the Oppo Reno 8 series in the Chinese market. After multiple leaks, the new smartphones are finally set to come with important upgrades. The Oppo Reno 8 series will bring an all-new design (if you're only considering Reno smartphones, of course). After multiple generations with the same "DNA", the Reno 8 series will bring a fancy look that resembles some OnePlus smartphones from recent times. Also, the new devices will also serve as the first commercially-available Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 smartphones. This new Qualcomm processor will be revealed on May 20, a few days ahead of the Reno 8 series release. Today, the upcoming smartphones - Reno 8, Reno 8 SE, and Reno 8 Pro - had some of their specifications detailed.
To those unaware, the Reno 8 series will go official in China on May 23. Ahead of the launch, the tipster Wow technology-shared some new tidbits through his Weibo handle. The tipster Digital Chat Station, also made his usual contribution to enhance the hype for the upcoming smartphone series. These will also hit the global markets in India a few weeks, or months, after their release in the domestic market.
Oppo Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro alleged specifications
The popular leakster has shared details about two of the upcoming Oppo Reno 8 series smartphones. To be more precise, the leak revolves around the Oppo Reno 8 and the Reno 8 Pro. According to Digital Chat Station, the Reno 8 Pro will bring the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. Furthermore, it will come with a MariSilicon X NPU to boost the camera's capabilities. We expect variants with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of Internal Storage. The Oppo Reno 8 Pro will pack a 6.62-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It has 188 grams of weight and just 7.57 mm of overall thickness. It may also bring an X-axis linear motor and NFC support, the design will quite resemble the OnePlus 10 series.
The Reno 8, on the other hand, is more modest. The device has a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED with a "just" 90 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device will bring the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC which is a tweaked version of the last year's 1200. The device will be even more sleek weighing just 179 grams and just 7.67 mm in thickness.
In terms of optics, both devices will bring at least a 50 MP main camera and a 32 MP selfie snapper. Both devices will bring the same 4,500 mAh battery with 80 W fast-charging support. We also know there is an Oppo Reno 8 SE coming along with these devices. Furthermore, there are rumors about an Oppo Reno 8 Pro+. This variant may see a release later this year.
