Samsung Galaxy S22 camera gets more impressive with this update
Samsung is rolling out a new software update for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series. The company wants to offer the best possible hardware and software experience with these devices. After all, they're still the company's sole flagships in the "conventional smartphone" territory. Today's update brings a set of improvements for the camera in these flagships. Samsung added a telephoto lens in rear hyperlapse mode and improves the QR Scanner feature for seamless navigation.
Samsung Galaxy S22 camera got even better!
According to the Korean firm, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series is getting improvements through a new Android 12 update. This update brings support for hyperlapse mode with the telephoto camera. To those unaware, the hyperlapse mode supports recording through wide and ultrawide cameras. Now, with support for the telephoto lens, the mode will get an additional 3x zoom option. In addition to that, Samsung teases a new feature that stands as "Astro Hyperlapse". Apparently, users will soon capture click super-artistic photos of the night sky.
The QR Code scanning is also getting some improvements in the Galaxy S22 series through this update. That may not be the biggest deal of this update for some users. However, given the recent importance of QR codes, it's great to have the functionality working even better. Apparently, the updates enable it to scan bigger areas. Moreover, the feature now offers a tap-to-scan option in case the app fails to find the code on its own. The update also addresses a bug in the Camera app's QR code scanner. It prevents users from scanning a QR code if the camera app detected a document.
Last but not least, the update also improves HDR Performance and Color Reproduction of the Galaxy S22 smartphones. Furthermore, it optimizes the Memory Usage and AI performance in Photo, Video, and Night Modes as well.
For now, the update is limited to South Korea
The update is rolling out for users in South Korea. As usual, Samsung will expand the update to other regions in a gradual form. The company will offer details about further availability soon, but you can already be ready for the update.
Worth noting that this sounds as a small update ahead of the One UI 5 build. As per the reports, the Android 13-based software will hit these devices around October.
