Redmi Note 12 series launch confirmed for India
Back in October, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 12 series in China. The lineup consists of four devices - Redmi Note 12, 12 Pro, 12 Pro+, and Discovery. The latter two phones are the more interesting with 200 MP cameras, and 120W and 210W charging respectively. Since the launch, global fans have been eagerly waiting for these devices' release outside of China. It seems that they are making their way to the Indian market.
We recommend you to not hold your breath for all four phones. Redmi India did not confirm any names, and due to the recent history, these releases outside of China are unpredictable. The company may bring completely different phones, or simply rebrand the existing ones. Only time will tell, but at least, some of the original phones will arrive. In fact, the poster suggests that the vanilla Redmi Note 12 will not reach India.
Redmi Note 12 Pro, Pro+, and Discovery are expected
The Redmi Note 12 has a dual camera setup on the rear with a circular flash, the others have triple rear camera setups with different flash designs. The three phones in the poster reflect the latter ones and not the vanilla. Of course, this is just speculation right now. But as we've said, in the past years, Xiaomi has not been following its releases in China. Also, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1-powered phone is the least interesting of the quartet. Anyway, we can't discard its release at a later date.
All three Redmi Note 12 Pro, Pro+, and Discovery pack the Dimensity 1080 SoC. The differences are mostly in the camera and battery departments. The 12 Pro has a 50 MP main camera, the 12 Pro+ 200 MP as well as the Discovery Edition. The Pro+ comes with 120W charging, whereas the latter pushes the bar up to 210W charging. The vanilla also has a lesser camera and slower charging capabilities.
We expect the company to keep up with the teasers in the next few days. The launch date and pricing policy for the Redmi Note 12 series are yet to be confirmed. Anyway, the phone already showed signs of a global release.
