With the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus the manufacturer made a huge move in terms of bringing a full-screen experience to larger masses. Now you don’t have to pay a fortune to acquire a full-screen smartphone carrying a top brand. Today both handsets have gone on sale with a starting price of 799 yuan ($120). The Xiaomi Redmi 5 sports a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. What’s more interesting, this phone is equipped with a Snapdragon 450 chip, a new chip using an octa-core A53 architecture clocked at up to 1.8GHz. The baseband has been upgraded to X9 LTE. Thanks to it, the phone provides 4 hours longer battery life, supports for dual-camera, the CPU performance was enhanced by 25%, and finally, it comes with an Adreno 506 GPU.
